Permanent account deletion

Delete your Npass account

You can delete your account in the app. If you cannot sign in, you can request deletion by email.

Deleting your account is permanent. Your study progress, cards and sync history cannot be restored afterwards.

Delete your account in Npass

  1. Open Profile

Sign in to the account you want to delete and open the Profile screen.

  2. Choose Delete Account

Select Delete Account and review the permanent-deletion notice.

  3. Enter the confirmation

Type DELETE in the confirmation field. This helps prevent accidental deletion.

  4. Confirm deletion

Choose Delete My Account. The account cannot be restored after the deletion succeeds.

Request deletion if you cannot use the app

Email support@npassnihongo.com from the address connected to your Npass account when possible. Use the subject "Account deletion request" and state that you want the account and its associated personal information deleted.

We may ask for reasonable verification that you control the account. Never email your password, sign-in code, access token, or a copy of sensitive identification unless we explain why it is legally required and provide an appropriate method.

A verified email request will be handled without undue delay and within any deadline required by applicable law.

What deletion removes

  • Your Npass authentication account and active sign-in session.
  • Synced vocabulary and kanji cards, study progress, guided-learning progress, study sessions, and sync snapshots linked to the account.
  • Account-linked reading passages and reading progress.
  • Private essay records, AI review artifacts, and narration database records linked to those essays.
  • Account usage records and entitlement records.
  • Community sets owned by the account and other account-linked records that use database deletion rules.
  • Local study data on the device when the post-deletion cleanup completes successfully.

What may remain

Deletion does not remove shared dictionary entries, shared example content, public pronunciation audio, KanjiVG data, or similar learning resources that are not intended to identify the requesting user.

Security, abuse-prevention, moderation, error, legal, and backup records may remain when necessary. Account identifiers may be removed or detached where appropriate.

A private essay narration object can become detached from its database record when the whole account is deleted. It remains in restricted storage and is no longer available through the deleted account. Contact support if you want us to investigate additional cleanup.

Copies in device or cloud backups controlled by your operating-system provider may remain according to that provider settings and retention rules.

Before you delete

  • Deletion is permanent. Npass cannot restore the account or its synced study history after it succeeds.
  • Save any essay, card, or study information you want to keep before confirming.
  • If the app shows unsynced changes, deletion will still be permanent and those changes will not be recoverable.
  • If you published community sets, removing the source prevents future discovery, but copies already imported by another user may remain on that user device.

After deletion

The app signs out and attempts to clear local study data. If local content remains because the cleanup was interrupted, clear the app storage or uninstall Npass after confirming that the account deletion succeeded.

If you receive an error, can still sign in after a reasonable processing period, or have a question about residual data, email support@npassnihongo.com.
