Common questions
I cannot sign in. What should I try?
Check that the device is online and that its date and time are set automatically. Update Npass, then try the same Google or Apple sign-in method previously used for the account.
If the problem continues, email support@npassnihongo.com with your device platform, app version, sign-in provider, and the exact error. Do not send your password, one-time code, or access token.
My progress is not syncing. Is it lost?
Npass keeps study progress on the device and queues changes for cloud sync. Stay signed in, use a stable connection, open Profile, and use Retry if a sync warning appears.
Do not clear app storage or uninstall while unsynced changes are still shown. If the warning remains, contact support before removing the app.
An AI meaning, correction, or score looks wrong.
AI output can be inaccurate. Keep the original text, take a screenshot if useful, and send the affected word, kanji, sentence, or feature to support. Do not include private information that is not needed for the report.
Use trusted dictionaries, official JLPT resources, or a qualified teacher for important decisions.
Audio or essay narration will not play.
Check media volume, network access, and any silent or focus settings on the device. Retry after reopening the item. Shared pronunciation audio can be cached, while a new essay narration may need time to finish generating.
If a ready narration still fails, include the essay identifier if visible and the error message in your support email. Do not send the full essay unless support asks for the specific text needed to investigate.
Why does Npass request camera or photo access?
Camera and photo access is used only when you choose a scan feature to extract vocabulary or kanji from an image. You can deny or remove the permission in device settings and continue using manual and pasted-text entry.
The selected image is sent to the AI extraction service for that request and is not saved as an image in your Npass account.
How do I report an incorrect or inappropriate community set?
Use the report control in the community feature when available. Choose the closest reason and add a short factual description.
For a safety, copyright, or moderation concern that cannot be reported in the app, email support@npassnihongo.com with the set title and any available identifier or screenshot.
How can I make a privacy request?
Email support@npassnihongo.com from the address connected to your account when possible. State whether you want access, correction, deletion, or another available privacy right.
We may need reasonable information to verify account ownership. Never send your password or authentication secrets.
How do I delete my account?
In Npass, open Profile, choose Delete Account, read the notice, type DELETE, and confirm Delete My Account. This action is permanent.
If you cannot use the app, follow the web deletion guide or email support@npassnihongo.com from the account address.
